Jakarta, IO – Jakarta Provincial Government will soon conduct a comprehensive study to devise plan to reduce the number of motorcycles on the capital’s streets on any given day using the odd-even plate system.

Earlier, National Police chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo proposed the policy when spoke at the 68th Traffic Police Day. According to him, the system can be a solution in reducing traffic congestion and air pollution which has worsen in recent weeks due to the prolonged dry season.

The ideas was actually mulled in 2020 by the Jakarta Government but was postponed due to the Covid-19 outbreak which saw people confined at home.
