Indonesia was named the new Chairman of the F1H2O (F1 Powerboat) Race on Friday, 16 December 2022. Handover of the title was directly performed by United Arab Emirates’ Chairman of Sharjah State Commerce and Tourism Development, Khalid AlMidfa, to the Republic of Indonesia Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs Zainudin Amali, in a ceremony held directly after the 2022 Road to Sharjah Grand Prix of Middle East on Sunday, 18 December 2022. Also present at the ceremony was the Regent of Toba Poltak Sitorus. 

Republic of Indonesia Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto couldn’t help feeling proud and touched. Two Indonesian cadets from the Magelang Military Academy, Second Inf. Lieut. Rafi Pratama Insan and Second Inf. Lieut. Muhammad Fadlan Mairubi, became our first of the nation’s sons to graduate from Britain’s Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (“RMAS”). The Minister attended their graduation ceremony on Sunday, 18 December 2022.

The National Crafts Council (Dewan Kerajinan Nasional – “Dekranas”) held a Kriyanusa Crafts Exhibition again in 2022, on 21-25 September in Hall A of the Jakarta Convention Center, Jakarta. Its theme this year was “Surviving Spirit of Competitive Craftspeople”, as the project was launched by the top two ladies of our nation: First Lady Negara Mrs. Iriana Joko Widodo, and General Chairwoman of Dekranas and the Mother of National Crafts, the Vice President’s wife, Mrs. Wury Ma’ruf Amin. 

Yenny Wahid, daughter of the late, former Indonesian President Abdurrahman Wahid and General Chairwoman of the Indonesian Climbing Activity Federation, appeared before the Ministry of Youth and Sports Zainudin Amali on Wednesday, 14 September 2022 at the latter’s office in Graha Pemuda Building, Senayan, Jakarta. Her purpose was to report Indonesia’s readiness to host the World Climbing Championship on 24 - 26 September 2022 in Lot 16, SCBD Park, Sudirman, Jakarta. 

Jim Brickman held a concert at Balai Sarbini with the title “Jim Brickman Live in Jakarta 2022”. The concert also featured musicians as Jim’s duet partners: John Trones, Delon and Rossa. 

After having finished the battle in the 44th Chess Olympiad in Chennai, India, 28 July-9 August alongside the Indonesian national chess team, Irene Kharisma Sukandar did not go straight back home to Indonesia. She went to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, instead – to battle in the 28th Abu Dhabi Chess Festival, 17-25 August 2022.
