Jakarta, IO – Badung Police arrested a Russian national identified as AS (42) on Wednesday (1/5) for destroying a villa and raping a Belarusian woman identified as TJSY (30).
“Currently the perpetrator has been detained by the Badung Police for further investigation,” said Bali Police spokesperson Kombes Jansen Avitus Panjaitan, per Detikcom, Friday (3/5).
The police have also questioned a number of witnesses and carried out a crime scene investigation.
The incident occurred in one of the villas where AS was staying in the Batu Bolong area, Canggu village, North Kuta, Badung regency. He reportedly stayed at the villa from April 18 to 22 April.

“When asked to pay the rent for the villa, the perpetrator refused to pay. He lost his temper and damaged the contents of the villa, resulting in losses of more than Rp91 million,” explained Jansen.
He said the police will take firm action because his disorderly conduct and crime can tarnish the reputation of Bali, a Hindu-majority island that relies heavily on tourism. (un)
