Jakarta, IO – Indra Charismiadji, spokesperson for the Anies-Muhaimin (AMIN) election team was arrested by the East Jakarta Prosecutor’s Office, Wednesday (27/12).
The arrest was confirmed by AMIN legal head Ari Yusuf. He suspects that this is related to the alleged tax evasion case at Indra’s previous company, per CNN Indonesia, Thu (28/12).
Indra had previously been reported in connection with cases of alleged fraud and embezzlement. The police have handled the case since 2020. However, Indra was uncooperative and often evaded summons.
Ahmad Sahroni, deputy chair of the House’s Legal Committee, who is also a cadre of the NasDem Party, submitted a request for suspension of detention on December 27. He said the application was made without coercion from any party. He stated that he is willing to be a guarantor.
Indra is a legislative candidate for the 2024 House election. He was nominated by the NasDem Party, per detikcom. He is known to graduate from the University of Toledo, Ohio, US, with a double degree in finance and marketing. He then pursued his master’s degree at Dana University, Michigan, US.

He has quite an impressive career. He previously worked for a number of multinational companies in the US. He then decided to return to Indonesia to work on Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL).
He is also active in various educational organizations and earns a reputation as an education observer. (un)
