Jakarta, IO – President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo launched Indonesian Government Technology (GovTech) called INA Digital at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday (27/5).

INA Digital seamlessly integrates various government digital services, including national portals and infrastructure-related services which are considered important to increase Indonesia’s global competitiveness, per Antaranews.

“We must strengthen our digital public infrastructure and our GovTech within an integrated portal that we call INA Digital,” said Jokowi, emphasizing that bureaucracy must be lean and efficient.

“The benchmarks should be public satisfaction, the benefits received by the community, and the ease of community in dealing with administrative affairs,” said Jokowi, adding that the integration of public service platforms will streamline the 27,000 disparate applications/platforms across ministries, agencies and regional governments.

“I have issued directive that, starting this year, stop creating new applications, new platforms!”  said Jokowi. The integration of public services is expected to save the state budget by up to Rp6.2 trillion.

After the launch, the government will begin to integrate services from each ministry/agency in phases, targeted for completion in September. (un)
