Jakarta, IO – Buddhists celebrate Vesak 2568 BE solemnly at the Arya Dwipa Arama Temple, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), Jakarta, Thursday (23/5). This year’s celebration of one of the most important Buddhist festival to mark the birth, enlightenment and the ultimate passing of Siddhartha Gautama. This year’s celebration aims to emphasize the importance of diversity and harmony in the lives of Buddhists.
The procession begins with Buddhists holding candle and walking around the temple area, led by a number of monks. After the procession, hundreds of Buddhists entered the temple brimming with devotees sitting contemplatively, while others sat in the courtyard. The worship procession continues with Puja Bakti, a series of prayers and offerings, followed by Vesak reflections to reflect on Buddha’s teachings.

The entire events at the Arya Dwipa Arama Temple took place solemnly and peacefully. The Buddhists who attended participated in every stage of the procession and worship with great appreciation, reflecting the spirit of diversity and harmonious coexistence in line with the overarching theme.
