DPR visits Sweden to study free lunch program

Jakarta, IO – A delegation from the House of Representatives (DPR) Committee IV led by its chairman Budhy Setiawan and deputy chairman Budisatrio Djiwandono conducted a working visit to Stockholm, Sweden, on May 19-22.

The visit’s purpose is to prepare the legal framework for the free lunch and free milk program that will be implemented by the incoming Prabowo administration, per CNN Indonesia, Thu (23/5).

This visit was also participated in by a number of institutions such as the National Food Agency (Bapanas), and representatives of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP).

In addition to conducting comparative studies, it also sought to explore cooperation between Indonesia and Sweden to support the program. Indonesian ambassador to Sweden Kamapradipta Isnomo said the working visit was an opportunity for Indonesia to obtain information and learn about the best practices of Sweden’s free lunch program.

“This working visit opens up great opportunities for Indonesia and Sweden to strengthen cooperation in the food sector,” said Kamapradipta. “We see tremendous potential in the exchange of knowledge and technology between the two countries.”

The delegation also visited several important locations, including the Bona Gard farm and plantation and the Fish & Seafood Market. (un)
