“Yenny is not part of PKB, her party didn’t even qualify for election. She kept attacking PKB but that didn’t have any effect. PKB kept seeing an increase in voters, so why always poke her nose into PKB’s business,” sneered Cak Imin.

Cak Imin does have a fraught relationship with Gus Dur’s family. PPP deputy chairman Asrul Sani once even advised Cak Imin and Yenny Wahid to have coffee together to mend ties. According to Asrul, PPP wants to unite all elements of NU whose members are known as “nahdliyin” so it can have a stronger foothold in politics. (rr)
