Eva added, Daop 1 Jakarta holds 61 long-distance train trips daily. “The average seating capacity is 20,000 at Senen Station, which runs according to the government regulations, 100 percent capacity for long-distance trains,” she said.
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Daop 1 Jakarta has prepared 329 unit trains consisting of 45 locomotives, 284 coaches and luggage trains for this year’s Eid pilgrimage.
Eva said all the locomotives and train units had gone through all stages of maintenance and inspections for the Eid holiday fleet. “Daop 1 Jakarta has three locomotive depots, three train depots, and carriages, and the Manggarai Yasa Center for major maintenance Daop 1 Jakarta,” Eva further explained.
All trains in all locomotive facilities undergo scheduled and programmed routine maintenance. Periodic maintenance includes daily, quarterly, six-monthly, and yearly maintenance. “Several checks include inspections of the diesel motor, electricity, braking system, and nine items that must function when the locomotive is running, such as floodlights, locomotive horn, wipers, cabin lights, locomotive radio, Deadman pedal, GPS, speedometer, and braking,” she stated.
