Amputee Football Menpora Cup held for the first time

Jakarta, IO – Persaj Jakarta (orange jersey) encounter against Persam Madura (red jersey) in the opening match of the national amputee football tournament (November 25-27) at Pamentas Field, Lebak Bulus, Jakarta, Friday (25/11).

Persaj Jakarta demolished Persam with a score of 12-0. The tournament sees six teams competing to win the Menpora Cup. They are Persam Madura, Persaj Jakarta, Persaid Jember, Sebad Depok, Persama Malang, and Persas Surabaya.

The inaugural tournament is part of the athlete training and talent development program carried out by the Indonesian Amputee Football Association (PSAI). It is also held as a follow-up to the achievement of the Indonesian amputee football team which made history by qualifying for the final in the Amputee Football World Cup in Istanbul, Turkey in October.
