Wisma Atlet Emergency Hospital is back to treating Covid-19 patients

Jakarta, IO – Indonesia is seeing resurgence of Covid-19 cases after an extended period of low case counts.

This can be seen from several emergency hospitals which have been filled with patients exposed to the virus. One of the most obvious is the Covid-19 Emergency Hospital (RSDC) Wisma Atlet in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.

The 3,661-bed hospital is treating a total of 81 patients, including three new one admitted today, Monday (20/6). Colonel Mintoro Sumego, its spokesperson, said dozens of patients with mild symptoms were being treated in tower 5, 6, and 7.

“In-patients confirmed to have contracted Covid-19 have increased by three to 81 people from previously 78, comprising 36 men and 45 women,” said Mintoro, as per Suara, Monday (20/6).

Since becoming operational on March 23, 2020, the hospital has treated 164,380 people with Covid-19 under various categories and symptoms. (un)
