Jakarta, IO – The tender for the procurement of curtains for the official residence of members of the House of Representatives was won by PT Bertiga Mitra Solusi, the highest bidder with a price of Rp43.5 billion. Lucius Karus, researcher at the Indonesian Parliamentary Watch (Formappi) said it doesn’t make logical sense.
“How can the highest bidder win, while there are other companies bidding lower,” Lucius told Tempo on Monday (9/5).

According to him, the procurement does not take heed of budget efficiency. “It’s as if they are saying that as the budget has been allocated it must be spent without having to take into account budget efficiency that can benefit the state,” he continued.
