Jakarta, IO – Turkey stated that it refused Sweden and Finland joining the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), in response to the two Nordic countries’ historic shift in their security policies.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said with Turkey making its stance clear, diplomatic delegations from Sweden and Finland need no bother coming to Ankara to discuss the move.

“First of all, we would not say ‘yes’ to those who impose sanctions on Turkey to join the NATO, a security organization, during this process,” Erdogan was quoted as saying by CNN Indonesia, Tuesday (17/5).
