“We are rich in green energy”: Jokowi woos US investors

Jakarta, IO – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) attended a meeting with corporate leaders (CEOs) during his visit to the US to attend the ASEAN-US Special Summit, Thursday (12/5). On this occasion, Jokowi invited corporate America to invest in Indonesia. He especially highlighted Indonesia’s green energy potential, from hydro to geothermal power plants.

“Indonesia is also very rich in green energy resources. Hydro power plants are very potential, there are 4,400 rivers in Indonesia, and for geothermal power plants, Indonesia has at least 29,000 megawatts of potential,” Jokowi said, streamed via Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel, Friday, (13/5).

He assured that power plants in Indonesia would comply with environmentally friendly principles and be able to be utilized for the production of important industrial products.
