Vasyl also thanked all parties, especially the European Union delegation and its member countries for their willingness to help Ukraine, including allowing the Ukrainian Embassy to present their voice at the European Town Square Festival.

European Union Ambassador Vincent Piket said the Ukrainian Embassy was a special guest at the festival. He said it showed the sympathy of the European Union and the Indonesian people for the Ukrainian people.

“Ukraine is not yet a member of the European Union, but we feel very close and connected,” said Vincent. “This is our way of saying that we support and are connected to the plight of the Ukrainian people who suffer every day from a terrible war that they did not cause, that they did not ask for, but became victims of it. Ukraine is like a special guest that should be here.”

The festival was organized by the European Union delegation for Indonesia and its member countries as part of the Europe Day celebration every May 9.
