IO, Kudus – “Unstring Your Heart”, a film made by students of SMK Raden Umar Said (RUS) Kudus Regency has been nominated for the 2020 Kansas International Film Festival in the United States. This realist animated film, made according to actual conditions with the background of the tourist attraction Lawang Sewu Semarang, previously won the 2019 HelloFest Indonesia Best Student Creation competition.

This film was deliberately made to participate in a film festival. “60 students were involved with this program. It took us six months, but there is research too, so that became nine months. We hope this film will become an icon for our school and a trigger for the next generation to produce other films,” said the Head of Studio SMK RUS, Riko Andriansyah, Tuesday (5/1/2021).

SMK Raden Umar Said, located in Kudus, Central Java, is the first animation school in Indonesia, and has been established according to international standards. This school modifies the conventional education system to be more enjoyable, without reducing the goals to be achieved in the learning process. SMK Raden Umar Said Kudus has five departments or study programs that are all related to technology, namely graphics, graphics production, visual communication design, animation, and software engineering.
