“Despite claiming to have obtain license from foreign regulators, making offers in futures trading still requires permit from Bappebti,” said Aldison.
He also reminded that investing with futures brokers that do not have a permit from Bappebti presents a risk to the public. Bappebti as the regulator cannot facilitate investors in conducting mediation in the event of a dispute between the investor and unlicensed entity.
“The entity also does not have a representative office in Indonesia. If investors feel aggrieved, no party can be held responsible. The legality of their existence overseas also cannot be ascertained. It takes no small amount of money in resolving a dispute,” said Aldison.
