UN human rights experts said they have sent a letter expressing their concern to the Indonesian government.
The United Nations appealed to the government to ensure that Indonesian law conform with international law and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The UN also urges the government to hold a public dialogue with civil society and stakeholders to address existing issues with the law.
“The UN is ready to share our technical expertise and help Indonesia strengthen its legislative and institutional framework, guaranteeing all individuals in Indonesia to enjoy all the rights stipulated in the international conventions and agreements that Indonesia participates in,” it states. (un)
