Ukraine Joins NATO: Assessing Future Disasters

NATO

Ukraine retook much of northeastern Kharkiv in September, including the city of Izium, which had become Russia’s primary logistical base. The steady progress helped Kyiv to seize momentum in the battle.

On October 1, Russia was able to acquire 15% of Ukraine’s land. Meanwhile, in response to Russia’s behavior, Ukraine swiftly submitted an application form to join the regional NATO alliance. This is what is being examined in terms of the possibility of a larger conflict.

The Comments

In response to Ukraine’s efforts to accelerate its NATO membership, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chair of the Russian Security Council, stated that “Ukraine joining NATO is the same as speeding the outbreak of World War 3.” Furthermore, Henry Kissinger, a former US Secretary of State who is also a scientist, diplomat, politician, geopolitical analyst, and veteran, has remarked on the current situation between Russia and Ukraine. “Ukraine must yield land to Russia if it wants peace,” Kissinger said. He went on to say that “it would be unwise for the United States to admit Ukraine to NATO.” The “Prophet of the Modern Century,” Henry Kissinger, claims that once the Berlin Wall collapsed, Washington attempted to integrate all former Soviet bloc nations under its cover. As a result, the whole land between Russia’s borders became available for reorganization. From Russia’s perspective, the US then moved to incorporate all of Ukraine’s territory, without exception, into the American-led strategic framework, thereby erasing Russia’s traditional “safety belt.” According to Kissinger, sooner or later, the West and Russia will participate in formal or informal communication, maybe in a significant way of nuclear research.

Conclusion

The major cause for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is Ukraine’s ambition to join NATO, which Russia regards as a danger to its land and authority. However, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine was motivated by more than just Ukraine’s ambition to join NATO. The Russian-Ukrainian invasion appears to be advancing from February to October 2022, while it is too early to foresee and evaluate the Russian-Ukrainian invasion, it does not seem inappropriate to prepare for the worst in the future. The Russian invasion of Ukraine encompassed not only Russia and Ukraine, but also other nations and had a wide-ranging influence on international life, particularly the role of the United States, which is still regarded as a world leader today. We are still unable to present an in-depth analysis that takes into consideration what will occur in the near future since the battle is not done and human existence is dynamic. People who suffer will suffer, regardless of whether they are realists, liberals, or constructivists.
