Jakarta, IO – The Illegal Goods Task Force confiscated 2,939 rolls of carpets and rugs from Turkey estimated to worth Rp10 billion for violating Trade Ministerial Regulation 8/2024 which amended previous Regulation 36/2023 on import policies as well as Regulation 26/2021 concerning the determination of business activity and product standards in the implementation of risk-based business licensing in the trade sector.
Trade Minister Zulkifli “Zulhas” Hasan said that the goods did not have Import Permit and Surveyor Report documents, as well as the mandatory registration requirements for goods related to Security, Safety, Health, and the Environment (K3L).
“This is to ensure that there are no state losses, consumer losses, and disruptions to other businesses,” he said, as per CNNIndonesia, Tue (24/9). The goods were found in a warehouse in the Jatake Industrial Estate, Tangerang, Banten province.

In addition, Zulkifli appealed to businesspeople to carry out trading activities in accordance with applicable provisions. “This is important to ensure consumer safety while protecting domestic industry,” he said. (bp)
