Tourists flock to Jakarta’s Old City quarters during New Year holiday

Jakarta, IO – Kota Tua (Old City) of Jakarta is one of the tourists’ favorite destinations to celebrate the New Year holiday. The area features old colonial buildings left by the VOC from the 17th century and is widely regarded as an affordable destination for excursion.

It was observed that hundreds of visitors began crowding the area since Monday (1/1) noon. Most of them came in groups, either with family or friends from various places outside Jakarta.

They mostly spend their time around Fatahillah Square. People of different age can be seen enjoying their time out, strolling or taking photos in front of the museum, exploring by bicycles or watching free music performances.
