Jakarta, IO – Dermatologist dr. Listya Paramita, Sp.KK shared her tips for consumers in choosing safe cosmetic products to prevent possible long-term effects when applied on the skin.
The graduate of Gadjah Mada University (UGM) said the first rule is to buy cosmetic products with a distribution permit from the Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM).
“Number one, if we want to buy products that are safe and legal in Indonesia, please check if it has a BPOM distribution permit. We can check the number on the website or application,” Listya told Antara, Thursday (14/7)
For foreign-made products, Listya reminds consumers to also check it with the country’s regulator. For example, if it’s an American-made product, they can check it via the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) website.
