TIME names Volodymyr Zelensky its 2022 Person of the Year

Jakarta, IO – TIME magazine, which annually features a person, a group, an idea, or an object that “for better or for worse … has done the most to influence the events of the year,” selected Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky as its 2022 Person of the Year.

Zelensky is regarded as a brave figure that has inspired many Ukrainians in the face of Russian invasion that has destroyed his country, reported Detik, Thursday (8/12).

TIME said Zelensky has rallied his compatriots in broadcasts from the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv. He also travelled across his war-torn nation.

The former comedian’s loyalty to his motherland was also shown when he refused to leave Kyiv when war broke out and Ukraine was hit by Russian missiles.
