The Magical Experience concept will present the festival as an imaginative musical and cultural experience, with hopes to inspire everyone: the audience, the musicians involved, or the organizers. The Prambanan Jazz Festival guarantees to provide a magical and fantastic experience.
Anas said that the ninth PJF (the 2023 PJF) would put the two-time Grammy Awards winner for Best World Music Album and the BRIT Award for Best International Band winner, Gipsy Kings, by Andre Reyes, on the show. New York’s Lucky Chop has also been confirmed to appear and deliver an outstanding and energetic performance in the Prambanan Temple.
“Gipsy Kings and Lucky Chop are among the other musicians ready to perform. A Broadway and swing jazz musician with 3.9M YouTube followers, Scott Bradlee, will appear together with Postmodern Jukebox. Bond will also make their performance in the 2023 PJF. Bond is the first female string quartet to break the record for the world’s highest album sales, with four million copies since its debut. Lighthouse Family vocalist, Tunde Baiyewu, will also enliven the 2023 PJF,” said Anas.
The Indonesian most beloved band, Kahitna, has also confirmed its appearance for three consecutive days every week. Maliq & D’Essential and Dewa 19 will also perform twice every week.
“The bands will present a different concept every day; what a shame to miss it,” convinced Anas. The Main Director of Rajawali Indonesia, Tovic Raharja, will continue to promote local culinarians by inviting the Pasar Kangen community to the 2023 Prambanan Jazz Festival.

Keeping the local food to appear at the festival is an effort to revive MSMEs businesses in Yogyakarta and is expected to fulfill PJF lovers’ longing for Yogyakarta’s typical culinary offerings.
The 2023 Prambanan Jazz Festival will also collaborate with Yogyakarta’s very own visual artist to manifest the 2023 PJF theme into an artwork. Isa Indra Permana, an illustrator from Yogyakarta who focuses on fashion and music, to be hugely involved in the event.
“Isa’s style tends to be explorative, with contrasting colors, combining cartoons, surreal and pop characters,” concluded Tovic. (des)
