Jakarta, IO – In his remarks at the Kremlin on Thursday (30/6), President Joko Widodo stated he had delivered a message from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to Russian President Vladimir Putin. However, the Ukrainian side seemed to ‘deny’ that they gave a message to Jokowi.

Regarding this matter, the Ukrainian Ambassador to Indonesia Vasyl Hamianin commented the message that Jokowi meant was an understanding of the situation in Ukraine which he then conveyed to the Russian side.

“There are no written messages and no direct messages that say: ‘Please convey this and this issue to Putin.’ The point is the perception and understanding from the Indonesian side that was conveyed to Vladimir Putin,” Hamianin said in a virtual presser reported by CNN Indonesia, Tuesday (5/7).
