Jakarta, IO – If you visit East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) don’t forget to stop by at Fatukopa Hill, South Central Timor (TTS) regency. In this place you will be treated to beautiful and breathtaking views of the tropical forest sprawling before your eyes.

The name Fatukopa is derived from the dialect of the Dawan tribe (one of the largest tribes in Timor) which means stone ship or literally shipwreck. Because of this, the local community also believes that this beautiful hill is the Noah’s Ark which sank in NTT, and hence it is regarded as a sacred hill, according to Akurat, Saturday (21/5).

Not anyone can climb to the top of the hill; only those who have the permission of the tribal chief or traditional leader can do it. The road leading to the hill is steep, difficult and treacherous. However, to avoid the hassle, tourists can also enjoy the beauty of Fatukopa Hill from a highland coated with green grass.
