All medical workers and staff involved in treating child patients must make sure to implement standard infection prevention and control measures, to prevent children from getting the disease. Furthermore, children identified as suffering from acute hepatitis must be quarantined in a separate room with its own bathroom and toilet facilities, until they no longer show any symptoms of the disease. “I cannot repeat this often enough: make sure to implement the mask-distancing-handwashing health protocols. Make sure that all of the child’s food and drink are not contaminated, and protect them from oral and respiratory fecal infection.”

Affirming the stance of Dr. Budiman, Dr. dr. Retno Astri Werdhani, M.Epid, of the UI Faculty of Medicine’s Community Medicine Department emphasizes the need to maintain a healthy lifestyle to prevent diseases, including this etiologically unclear acute hepatitis: She stated, “Parents and teachers must provide an example by living a healthy lifestyle regularly. Create a clean, healthy home and school environment by maintaining sanitation in these places to avoid illnesses.”
