The basic difference between the Pearl Harbor attack and 9/11 lies in the attack’s origin. The tragic 9/11 incident was a terrorist attack from within the country. The enemy had prepared strategies to strike important Centers of Gravity (CoGs) of a superpower country.
The kamikaze pilot who attacked the building, ironically attended a U.S. pilot school; a suspected member of the Al Qaeda network, this caused difficulties for the U.S. Government to retaliate against the humiliation, as the Al Qaeda terrorist network is spread throughout several countries.
Both Pearl Harbor and 9/11 attacks are examples of unanticipated strikes. A clear failure of intelligence, information was far from building a safer United States defense and security system.

The 9/11 attack was a brute and hard lesson for the U.S. as a superpower, one with unmatched military power but still succumbed to an attack. Drone and artificial intelligence have developed immensely within the last two decades.
As the Indonesian CoG, it is very likely to focus our attention on the safety of our IKN Nusantara. The warning delivered by the Governor of Lemhannas can be taken as a wakeup call for the state’s thinkers and designers to review and build a better national security defense system.
