This kind of perception is what Melody tries to change. She endeavors to create motifs that can be applied to casual clothes design suitable for daily use. She has designed outer, dress, and unisex models using woven fabric motifs from NTT.

“In the past, young people don’t like to wear woven fabrics it’s thick and the design is formal. We try to make casual designs so that it looks casual and relaxed, but still looks good and classy,” said Melody.

According to her, compared to buying expensive foreign-branded fast fashion with average quality at mall, it is better to turn woven fabrics into niche fashion. Although expensive, the price is comparable to the quality and design because they are limited edition model.

“We have seen a lot enthusiasm and our design inspired by woven fabrics is well-received. They have been sought after. Many customers even ask for a custom design. This proves that there is demand for woven fabrics in the market, if we can make it more relevant for modern and casual use,” concluded Melody. (Aini Tartinia)
