From every corner of the eye, offering a panoramic view of the exotic. Papua’s natural beauty, is not only in Raja Ampat, but Biak Island also has some charming natural scenery points. But unfortunately, the attraction of the region is not commercial. Wardo river, is located in the village of Wardo, Biak Numfor offers stunning river excursions. Along the way, visitors will see a variety of tropical forests and other natural resources. To enjoy the natural scenery along the River Wardo, visitors, departing from the estuary Wardo. From there, visitors can rent a fishing boat or jonson (local language). The fishing boat is composed of two types, namely traditional dugout canoe child in dayuh and traditional boats fitted with petrol engines.

The price of renting a boat is not pegged. But, usually visitors only pay gas money around Rp. 200-500,000 to fishermen. Special foreign tourists, set a price of Rp. 100,000 per head. But, according to the narrative of local fishermen, Mr. Frans, foreign tourists prefer to use regular wood boats because they want to feel the sensation of pedaling your own boat. Moreover, Mr Frans said there are times when tourists do not worry about the weather. When they’ve had a scheduled visit, to a place they do not care what kind of situation they will keep the way down the river to see the natural beauty here.

“The best time to peddle your own boat is in the morning until noon. Because it was high tide and the water flow in the same direction, so it is not too heavy to row,” said Mr. Frank.

From Muara Wardo, we will be presented with the natural scenery which is a breathtaking tropical forest on the left and right along the river. Similarly discovering Amazon river feels when being here. Especially when viewed from above. Throughout the 2 kilo meter looks plants such as palm trees, taro, sago palm, pandanus, and so forth. Similarly audible sounds of animals that inhabit the surrounding area, such as various birds and monkeys.

“The animals that inhabit this region consists of snakes, squirrels, butterflies, foxes, rats forests, and fish freshwater rivers,” explained Mr. Frans more protracted.

When searching the river focus on the views on all sides. See the beauty of the birds that fly overhead, refer to the occasional shallow river until you see the fish, and feel the cool breeze. After seeing the beautiful natural scenery, and down the river about 15 minutes by boat gasoline I arrived at halfway.

At the point you stop the boat, there are two, the first being in the way that large limestone stack adorn the river. Limestone rocks were arranged randomly in the middle of the river, partly overgrown with plants. Visitors can take a break to play water or shower feeling the cold clear river water. Limestone rocks are not the original stones from the river. However, it is there because of the rocks of volcanic earthquakes.

“In 1996, there was a terrible earthquake that shook Papua, lime stones fell into the river. The size was big,” said Mr. Frans while remembering.

Once there is a falling rock in the mountains, a trip on the river is slightly hampered towards the discharge end, the Niagara Wardo height of 12 meters.

“To get to the waterfall must take a small boat, so wear boat crossing again. Add a travel time of 45 minutes. But if you want to rock just be back again,” he said.

Eastern Indonesia does have a natural beauty that is extraordinary, not only at sea but also on the territory of the basin and also the lush forest that has the beauty that is very intriguing eyes of the tourists who visit. (aldo)
