Village International Gastronomy, a prestigious event that showcases local traditional culinary and craft products, is attended by 42 countries across the world. The 2022 Village International Gastronomy (VIG) saw Indonesia exhibiting various products at the 2022 event, held in Paris, France from September 1 to 4, 2022.
The government of Teluk Bintuni Regency, West Papua and its MSME businesses introduced downstream mangrove products. “Do not only think of Bali: we hope the event will introduce Papua and make Papua known in the international world. As a part of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, Papua is expected to become a new economic center in Eastern Indonesia,” said the Regent of Teluk Bintuni Regency, Petrus Kasihiw, Saturday (9/3/2022).
“The Bintuni mangrove forest is a remnant of the world’s lungs and the second-largest after the Amazon. We are developing a mangrove-source economy that does not damage mangroves,” he continued.
