IO, Jakarta – Center for Entrepreneurship, Change, and Third Sector (CECT) at Trisakti University once again held their 2019 CECT Sustainability Awards, for the fifth time, as a form of appreciation for companies and social entrepreneurs who have demonstrated Sustainable Performance and Holistic CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility).
The CECT Sustainability Awards are based on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and ISO 26000 management guidelines. The event is hoped to be able to exert a broad impact on people’s welfare.
“The award should motivate and provide guidance to companies or organizations to conduct business sustainability while contributing to development,” observed CECT Sustainability Awards Jury Chair Dr. Maria R. Nindita Radyati to the media in Jakarta, Thursday (11/07/2019).
The 2019 CECT Sustainability Awards were attended by 57 participants, consisting of 47 companies and 10 social enterprises. From the 57, 32 winners were selected for the company category and 7 winners for the social enterprise category, which covered Health, Education, Creative Industries, Environment, Sports, Technology, and Arts & Culture.
The Company category award is given to firms which undertake efforts to achieve SDGs through Holistic CSR. Meanwhile, awards to entrepreneurs or organizations in the Social Enterprises category were bestowed for efforts to solve social problems with a business approach and have significantly contributed to SDGs in Indonesia. On the same occasion, CECT also held a seminar on Sustainability and The Digitized Economy – Dealing With Uncertainty, presenting Prof. Dr. Benny Tjahyono, experts in the field of Circular Economy from Coventry University, UK and Dr. Suyoto from the Indonesian Peace Efforts Foundation (UID). The two speakers discussed leadership that can adapt and how to deal with uncertainties and the importance of using digital technology for better decision-making. (*/est)
