Surya Darmadi to go on trial for the first time on September 8

Jakarta, IO – Surya Darmadi, a defendant in the forest conversion graft case will soon stand trial at the Corruption Court (Tipikor), Central Jakarta.

The first trial of the owner of major oil palm plantation company PT Duta Palma Group/Darmex Group boss will be held on Thursday (8/9) with the agenda of charge readout by the prosecution, Bisnis reported on Monday (5/9).

Surya Darmadi is alleged to have caused state loss to the tune of Rp104.1 trillion.

He has been detained by the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) since Monday (15/8) after he returned from Taiwan and turned himself in after he was named a suspect in arguably Indonesia’s biggest corruption scandal. (un)
