Jakarta, IO – President Joko Widodo emphasized the need for urgent judicial reforms in response to the naming of Supreme Court (MA) justice Sudrajad Dimyati as a bribery suspect in relation to a legal case being handled by MA.
Jokowi said he has directed Coordinating Political, Legal and Security Affairs Minister Mahfud MD to spearhead the efforts.
“I am of the view that there is high urgency to reform our legal system, and I have ordered the Coordinating Political, Legal and Security Affairs Minister (to address this matter),” Jokowi said in an official statement broadcast by the Cabinet Secretariat, Monday (26/9).
