“Digital transformation has given rise to new economies. Tellers and bank back-offices workers may disappear but new services needed by the community will also spring up,” Sri Mulyani explained on Monday (18/4).
Many observers and economists have since long predicted that tellers will be replaced by machines and artificial intelligence. Based on financial statements from major banks, the reduction in workers, albeit gradually, has been underway especially in the past five years.
