Angga Raka Prabowo, Deputy Minister of Communications and Informatics of the Republic of Indonesia
Jakarta, IO – News about a cabinet reshuffle was not on the radar, so it came as a surprise when Angga Raka Prabowo, CEO of Independent Observer, sent a message to Independent Observer’s WhatsApp group on Monday morning, August 19.
“Good morning, dear colleagues. God willing, I will be appointed Deputy Minister of Communications and Informatics II this morning by President Jokowi at the Palace,” he wrote.
“This mandate and responsibility is also thanks to you who have fought (together) all this time. Thank you for your efforts. I apologize for any shortcomings,” Angga continued.
“Please pray and support me so that I can uphold these duties and responsibilities in the future,” he ended the message.
The inauguration of Angga Raka Prabowo as Deputy Minister of Communications and Informatics is based on Presidential Decree 92/P/2024 concerning the Dismissal and Appointment of State Ministers for the Advanced Indonesian Cabinet for the remaining term of office of 2019-2024.
Guided by President Jokowi, Angga and newly appointed Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Investment/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Rosan Roeslani and Minister of Law and Human Rights Supratman Andi Agtas, took the oath of office.
“By Allah, I swear that I will be true to the 1945 Constitution and will carry out the laws and regulations as righteously as possible for the sake of my devotion to the nation and state. In carrying out my office duties, I will uphold the ethics of the office and work to the best of my ability with a full sense of responsibility,” the newly appointed officials read the oath.
After that, each newly inaugurated official signed the minutes of oathtaking in front of the Indonesian President.
With this new appointment, Minister of Communications and Informatics Budi Arie Setiadi has two deputy ministers: Nezar Patria and Angga Raka Prabowo. Minister Budi fully supported Angga’s appointment as a deputy minister.
Budi hopes he can delegate some strategic tasks to Angga so that he can complete them more promptly and effectively.
Angga is also expected to complete several priorities immediately, including derivative regulations and agencies for implementing the Personal Data Protection Law.
Angga’s other tasks include accelerating the eradication of online gambling, improving national data architecture and governance and optimizing artificial intelligence (AI) to improve public services.
Born in Jakarta on September 8, 1989, Angga is known as a figure who admires and remains loyal to Indonesian President-elect 2024- 2029 Prabowo Subianto. He commenced his journey with the Gerindra Party in 2008, and in 2012, he was active in the party’s media team.

Angga has developed a closeness with Prabowo throughout the years. He was trusted to be Prabowo’s personal secretary from 2014 to 2017. Despite Prabowo’s defeats in the 2014 and 2019 presidential elections, Angga stayed with Prabowo until now.
In the 2024 presidential election, Angga became Head of Communications or Campaign Media Director of the Prabowo Subianto– Gibran Rakabuming Raka National Campaign Team (TKN). In the Gerindra Party, Angga served as Deputy Secretary General and Chairman of the Communications Agency.
