Jakarta, IO – As Ramadan enters its last week, observations at the Kampung Rambutan terminal bus ticket counter, Saturday (23/4) showed that the fare of Intercity/Interprovincial (AKAP) buses gradually increased by 30%, 50%, even up to 150% and 200% as the peak of the homecoming exodus is predicted to take place from April 28 to May 1.

The ticket of buses bound for Central Java and East Java as of April 20 increased by 50%, while for Sumatra up 30%. Despite the spike, it did not dissuade the number of people making exodus trips this year. Many travellers work around this by going home earlier so they do not need to pay more. (Aslam Iqbal)
