Jakarta, IO – The Ponorogo regency government plan to build Reog Ponorogo monument on Mount Gamping, Sampung village, Ponorogo. The museum will be 126 meter tall, beating Bali’s Garuda Wisnu Kencana’s (GWK) 121 meters.
According to Ponorogo regent Sugiri Sancoko said the project has been tendered since October 25, 2022 and Surabaya-based PT Widya Satria has been announced the winner. The multi-year project, worth Rp85 billion, will be funded by the 2022-2024 regional budget (APBD). The monument is scheduled to be built next year.
Giri said the regional government has discussed the preparation for the project commencement and ground breaking. “Because this is a big project and Ponorogo’s reputation is at stake, it must be implemented properly. I will monitor the construction every step of the way,” says Giri.
Meanwhile, Ponorogo’s Goods and Services Procurement Agency head Budi Darmawan said the evaluation results conducted by the working group, PT Widya Satria is the only construction company that met the administrative and technical qualifications.
