Religious tourism to Jakarta’s hundreds-year old Sin Tek Bio temple

Jakarta, IO – On March 15, Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan officially designated Sin Tek Bio temple in Pasar Baru, Central Jakarta as a cultural heritage building. According to Anies, this is an effort to preserve historical buildings so that they can be managed properly.

Sin Tek Bio temple was built in 1698. Observerid.com tries find it but access to the temple is quite difficult; the building is squeezed between restaurants and residential areas.

“The landmark, look for Aboen noodle restaurant, from there you will find a signpost showing the direction to temple,” a parking attendant said when asked the direction.

Sin Tek Bio temple is located in the Kelinci alleyway. It sits on a 2,000 square meters land. Apart from being used as a place of worship, some parts of the building are also rented out to the Chinese residents around the area.
