IO, Jakarta – Faculty of Public Health, University of Indonesia (FKM UI) conducted debriefing and release of Field Learning Experience (PBL) activities for the FKM S1 Study Program Extension class of 2017. This activity took place at the meeting hall of the Babakan Madang Sub-District Office, Bogor District, Tuesday (1/7) / 2020).

The release activity was opened by a speech from the Dean of FKM UI, Dr. dr. Sabarinah Prasetyo, MSc., as a representative of FKM UI and Babakan Madang Sub-District Chief, Cecep Imam Nagarasid, SE, M.Sc as a representative from Babakan Madang Sub-District. Also present were representatives of the Bogor District Bappeda, representatives from the Babakan Madang police, as well as other district government officials.

Also present were representatives from the villages who would be the points where PBL was held. The villages in question are Babakan Madang, Kadumanggu, Citaringgul, and Sumur Batu.

In the release speech, Dr. Sabrina stressed that PBL activities aim to identify health problems that exist in the local village, recognize health resources available, know health risk factors found in the local village. “Then also intervene and recommend solutions that will be used as a reference for solving existing health problems,” she said, as quoted by the UI website.

A total of 94 students who participated in this PBL activity were divided into groups in each village and lasted for approximately one month. The hope is that with this PBL activity FKM UI extension program students can apply the knowledge gained during lectures by going directly to the community. (*/est)
