During his visit, President Ramos Horta also expressed his hope that his country can join ASEAN during Indonesia’s chairmanship in 2023. He also mentioned this during his press statement with President Joko Widodo at the Bogor Presidential Palace, Tuesday (19/7).
“Indonesia remains committed to Timor Leste’s membership in ASEAN and strengthening our economic cooperation,” he added.
