Jakarta, IO – Gerindra Party chairman Prabowo Subianto remains the top contender in the latest presidential candidacy poll, even after NasDem Party declared Anies Baswedan as its presidential candidate.

Political Weather Station (PWS) on Friday (7/10) announced the results of its survey. PWS researcher Sharazani revealed that if the presidential election is held today, Prabowo would bag 30.8 percent of the votes, significantly ahead of Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo with 18.8 percent and Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan with 17.5 percent.

“Prabowo is still superior compared to other figures,” said Sharazani on Saturday (8/10).

Sharazani further pointed out that Prabowo’s electability increased by almost 50 percent from the beginning of the year, even though the defense minister has not promoted himself aggressively as a presidential candidate for 2024.

“Prabowo’s electability seems unshaken even though he has not actively engaged in promoting himself on social media or directly with the community,” he said.

PWS conducted the survey from October 1-6, 2022 with 1,200 respondents across 34 provinces through random sampling method. The results have a margin of error of 2.83 percent and confidence level of 95 percent. (un)
