Jakarta, IO – Russia has issued fast-track passport to Ukrainian, after President Vladimir Putin signed a decree simplifying the procedure for obtaining Russian citizenship.
“Citizens of Ukraine can now apply without having to stay in Russia for five years, have a source of income or to pass Russian language test,” the decree reads, reported Okezone on Wednesday (12/7).
According to Tempo, the decree has actually been enacted since April 2019 for residents of Donetsk and Luhansk. Since then, more than 720,000 residents of the rebel-held area, or about 18 percent of the population, have received Russian passports. They were also given Covid-19 jabs and offered trade access to local producers.
