Jakarta, IO – Nasdem Party chairman Surya Paloh stated that PDI-P central executive board chairwoman Puan Maharani is on the party’s “radar” to be nominated as presidential candidate after they met at Nasdem Tower on Monday (22/8), Kompas reported on Tuesday (23/8).
“How come she is not on the radar since we have met,” he quipped.
Surya stated that the possibility for Puan to be nominated by NasDem remains open although the party has announced several figures in its national working meeting (rakernas) a few months ago.
“We will see the development going forward, but I have taken note of Puan’s visit,” added Surya.

He confirmed that NasDem still has no intention to change the results of its rakernas which nominated Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo, Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan and TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa as presidential candidates.
“Mbak Puan said this was an initial meeting, it will be followed up. Of course, all of this is solely for the benefit of the nation,” he said. (un)
