Makassar, IO – The protesters started burning tires on Andi Pangeran Pettarani Street, Makassar, South Sulawesi, at around 3 pm Central Indonesian Time, Thursday (21/4)
Students who hail from the Komunitas Gondrong Bersatu (literally “Long-haired community united”) descended to the middle of the road to block passing vehicles. They unfurled banners demanding the government to reverse the increase of value-added tax (VAT) and fuel prices.

The declared the government has failed the people because the prices of basic necessities continue to shoot up in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, which makes it very difficult for small people to survive.
