Jakarta, IO – The 2022 President’s Cup U-17 badminton championships in the women’s single event has concluded the round of 16 on Thursday (4/8).

Top seed Thalita Ramadhani Wiryawan from Jakarta and second seed Ni Kadek Dhinda Amartya Pratiwi from North Sumatra prevailed.

Held in GOR Nanggala, Cijantung, East Jakarta, Thalita beat North Sumatra player Nazura Trisyah in straight sets with the score of 21-8 and 21-15.

“Alhamdulillah, I’m happy to make it into the quarter-final round. Today the court was quite windy so it was a bit difficult to control the shuttlecock, especially in the second game, but I tried to give pressure to my opponent and turn the game around,” said Thalita after the game.

Thalita admits that as a top seed, she felt quite pressured by the high expectation put on her, but whatever the result she promises to remain calm so that she can play optimally.
