Jakarta, IO – US think tank Atlantic Council conferred Global Citizen Award to President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo for his global leadership.

In his remark broadcast via video message at the award ceremony in New York on Monday (19/9), President Jokowi said that he dedicated the award to all Indonesian people, Antara reported on Wednesday (21/9).

“President Joko Widodo is the embodiment of the spirit that Indonesia wants to project to the world, namely the paradigm of collaboration, bridge-builder, and being part of the solution,” said Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi who represented the president to receive the award.

WEF executive chairman Klaus Schwab said Jokowi was awarded for his leadership at this year’s G20 where Indonesia assumes the presidency, his efforts to build peace in Ukraine, and broad support for advancement of human rights, democracy, and a better global health architecture.
