Jakarta, IO – Pracima Tuin (Park) is a new tourist destination in the city of Solo. It features Javanese-European architecture. It attracted public attention when it was chosen by President Joko Widodo as the venue for the ngunduh mantu (welcoming the daughter-in-law) ceremony when his youngest son Kaesang Pangarep wedded Miss Indonesia 2022 beauty pageant finalist Erina Gudono on December 11, 2022.
The beauty of this park can now be enjoyed by the public after it was revitalized on January 21. As the name implies, Pracima means west in Sanskrit, this park sits on the west of Pura Mangkunegaran. It was originally a private garden of the royal family and restored to its former glory during the rule of the Mangkunegaran dynasty led by Mangkunegara VII from 1916 to 1944.
Previously there were three main buildings namely Pracimaloka, Pracimasono and Pracimawisik. Pracimaloka, formerly used to process plantation and agricultural products, is located on the west side. Pracimawisik, used for relaxation, is on the east side while Pracimasana is the main building located in the middle of the park. There was also a swimming pool which has been converted into a fountain.
The park serves two functions, to provide the public with an open green space and to preserve the cultural heritage of the Mangkunegaran.
“This park was built according to the blue print that existed during the Mangkunegara VII reign around the 1920s,” pointed out the KGPAA Mangkunagoro X expert team member R Christopher S Lebe on Thursday (16/3).

The public can also dine at Pracimasana Restaurant, which is located within the park. The menu include kencur rice, specialty tea, age jerky and many more. The park is open from 10 am to 10 pm WIB. However, visitors must reserve in advance via pracima.id due to the limited space. (bp)
