Jakarta, IO – Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto topped the electability poll by the Indonesia Survey Center (ISC). ISC senior researcher Chairul Ansari said Prabowo still wins the public’s trust, according to 30.4 percent respondents polled. At the second and third place were Central Java governor Ganjar Prabowo with 19.1 percent and Jakarta governor Anies Baswedan with 13 percent.
“Prabowo is slowly breaking through 30 percent threshold. This support shows growing public trust in Prabowo to succeed President Jokowi,” Chairul said in a written statement received by observerid.com, Monday (29/8).
“Meanwhile, Ganjar and Anies are still stagnant at below 20 percent due to the lack of certainty whether they will receive major parties’ support and perhaps the increasing confidence of political parties to nominate their own cadres,” Chairul argued.
Chairul explained that the biggest reason why the public chose Prabowo is because he is considered to have the capability to solve the complex problems faced by the nation.
