Jakarta, IO – Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto was widely discussed and received positive sentiment on social media throughout 2022, reported Sindonews, Friday (13/1). The findings were announced by MediaWave, which conducted monitoring and analysis of conversations and social media coverage on ministers in Jokowi’s Indonesia Onward Cabinet from December 1-31, 2022.
Mediawave chief analyst Nadia Shabilla said her firm analyzed public perception divided into three parameters, namely positive, negative and neutral sentiment, and then devised a formula called Earned Media Share of Sentiment (EMSS).
“The EMSS formula calculates the number of conversations and net sentiment towards the ministers. The greater the percentage, the larger the number of conversations and the higher the positive sentiment,” explained Nadia.
The top five ministers are SOE Minister Erick Thohir, Social Affairs Minister Tri Rismaharini, Agrarian and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency chief Hadi Tjahjanto, Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin and Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto.

Prabowo Subianto garnered 1.34 percent with a total of 76,585 conversations. Some of the issues discussed were the provision of social assistance in the form of groceries and motorcycles for Subdistrict Military Command (Koramil) 0821/14 Pronojiwo, Lumajang to accelerate the distribution of humanitarian supplies following Mount Semeru eruption. Then conversations about Prabowo visiting and distributing aid for earthquake survivors in Cianjur, as well as the inauguration ceremony for the delivery of French-made Dassault Falcon 7X and 8X jets.
The arrival of aircrafts represented the achievement of Prabowo’s defense diplomacy in the procurement of Dassault Rafale fighter jets to bolster Indonesian Air Force in carrying out its duties to safeguard national air sovereignty in the next five years. (un)
